Kyocera and Cricket Wireless announced their newest waterproof
Android handset today, known as the Kyocera Hydro Plus. The smartphone features the carrier's music subscription service, Muve Music 4.0, and costs $139.99 without a contract. In addition, it has a 3.5-inch screen with a 480x320-pixel resolution and is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. It also has a 1,500mAh battery, which has a reported talk time of up to 8.5 hours.
Though it doesn't have a secondary front-facing camera, it does have a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera that can record video. Unfortunately, the Hydro Plus ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS which, at this point, feels quite dated.
Other features include expandable memory up to
32GB, 2GB of ROM, and the previously mentioned Muve Music, a service that enables users to download thousands of albums and songs for offline listening.
